So, it's the day after hurricane Irene hit. Surprisingly, there isn't that much damage around my neighborhood considering we live right next to the bay. Just broken tree branches and leaves everywhere. No broken windows, no messed up roof, no de-rooted trees. Thank goodness our house is perfectly fine. We had power and everything since yesterday. It didn't go out around our area. I can't tell if it flooded badly around us. I don't think the water came up that high thanks to the sand dunes.
I feel so sorry for everyone else without power and damaged houses and trapped from floods. Everywhere else around Jersey there's massive flooding and trees down. I hope all of this gets fixed pretty soon. This really was the storm of the century.
I guess it's safe to say that we were blessed :)
